CHULUUT RIVER

The Chuluut (stony river) is a river that flows down through the valleys of the Khangai Mountains in central Mongolia, and a tributary of the Ideriin goal. It is 415 km long, the width at the mouth of the Ider river is 80 m, the maximum depth is 3 m. It usually freezes from November to April. The Stony River is 30 km from sout Tariat of Arkhangai province. The Chuluut canyon extends for 25 km, above 20 m in height.
The Chuluut River is the most western river. It begins in a narrow basalt canyon, steep but not high, that is embedded in a mountainous steppe landscape. It is a wonderful experience to travel between these steep walls, which occasionally open onto a view of wooded hillsides and rich grasslands. The Chuluut is also famous for its fisheries. As you can not access most of it unless you are in a canoe, there are some good opportunities to enrich the menu with fresh Lennox trout.
